About the Trak Shak

The Trak Shak, established in 1995 by Valerie McLean, is the premier running destination in Birmingham. With our experienced and knowledgeable staff, weekly group runs, race packet pick ups, and a great selection of apparel, accessories and footwear, we provide incomparable service to the runner! Over the years, we’ve learned our fit process isn’t just for runners! Whether you are walking, jogging, standing, cross-fitting, or just have issues finding the perfect fitting shoe, we can help you! Visit one of our three conveniently located shops in Downtown Homewood, on 280 in Inverness or in Hoover at the corner of Brock’s Gap Parkway and Stadium Trace.

Celebrating 29 Years at The Trak Shak!

WOW!!! The Trak Shak Homewood turns 29 on May 8, and we want to celebrate! At our Wednesday Night Run, chat with reps from Nike and On Running, get fit in one of their styles, and take the shoes out for a little demo run on our 3 or 5 mile courses. The run starts at 5:30 PM, at which time we will take a customary jog around the Trak located behind the original location on Crescent Ave!
After the run, enjoy burgers and dogs fresh off the grill, AND by popular demand, frozen margaritas! We hope you’ll come out to celebrate 29 YEARS with us!!
