Virtual MLK Day 5K Drum Run

The MLK Day 5K Drum Run is a community-based celebration of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. This year we celebrate the 5th Anniversary on Saturday, January 16, 2021. The race this year will be a VIRTUAL RACE. You will be able to run/walk the race at your leisure, at your time from anywhere in the world. Annually the race features a lineup of drumline musicians from Birmingham area schools and organizations that will perform along the full race course to motivate runners and walkers as they make their way. This year we will bring you the sound of the participating drumlines in an electronic format (MLK Day 5K Drum Run – Birmingham Soundtrack) as you make your way along your 5K route. When each approved community organization signs up as a team, $5 of each team member’s registration will be returned to that organization for use in community efforts of its choice.
